Titch Tours has its origins back in the early 1990s, when the late Evette Johnson, married for over 40 years to Michael, formed Titch Travel in their garage at their home in Rosebank, Cape Town.

The venue for the fledgling travel operation was somewhat unusual, as Evette and Michael removed the back wall of their garage, put in a glass door and through this, Evette and her girls were able to enjoy a full view of the swimming pool; hence the nickname which developed quickly in the trade, the “Agency by the Pool”.
